Tamiya Snippers & Flat Spray

Look what came in the mail today! My Tamiya Snippers and a can of Mr. Hobby Flat Spray.

Tamiya Snippers & Mr. Hobby Flat Spray

Let me tell you what these things do. The Tamiya Snippers are for cutting out the Gundam pieces out of the frame. The frame is known as the runner, so keep that in mind. I will be using the word runner instead of frame. Why did I buy Tamiya Snippers versus using regular snippers or nail clippers or etc…? Because Tamiya Snippers have a flat blade, so they give an ideal cut.

Now, on to the Mr. Hobby Flat Spray. The flat spray is used in the final stages of building the Gundam. Flat, also known as Matte, gives it a non-glossy surface. Some people like their Gundam glossy, and some don’t. In my opinion, the Gundam looks better and more realistic when it has a flat look.

  1. nice… i remember my mail packages when they arrived, always give me pure excitement when opening specially if its a Gundam kit…

im also just starting out investing on tools for my gunpla hobby… the airbrush is a must! but still saving on it :( Badger is good i think? double action internal mix… for now ill be experimenting on paint sprays (tamiya)

looking forward to postings of your finish gunpla’s…

  2. @athrun: The airbrush is definitely expensive. I am planning to get Iwata. I mean, if I am going to spend so much money, might as well get a better one. I have my eyes on Iwata SprintJet air compressor and AirBrush Eclipse-CS.
